Try looking up some tutorials on YouTube to see all of the features you can use.
Also, you can download brushes from this site: QBrushes
I highly recommend using brushes because it adds a lot to your signatures/avatars/etc.
Here is a sig that I made a while ago. I used some brushes from that site on it.
